BrigHouse Residential Trip

On November 16th - 18th, some KS3 learners visited BrigHouse Residential Centre (a fully equipped, purpose built residential building) in Atherstone for a two night residential trip. Everyone had a fantastic time. All the pupils behaved brilliantly and developed and deepened friendships. Thank you to the amazing staff who gave up their free time to allow this trip to happen.

On November 16th - 18th, some KS3 learners visited Brighouse Residential Centre (a fully equipped, purpose built residential building) in Atherstone for a two night residential trip.

Pupils left school at 9.30am on Wednesday morning, excited about the adventure ahead.  After settling in and unpacking, they were split into three groups and tried three different activities: a woodland walk, in the sunshine; an art task, using natural material from the grounds of the Brighouse and a cooking task, making cakes and flapjacks to eat during the visit. In the evening, lots of fun was had at Nuneaton Bowling before returning to the Brighouse for a well needed hot chocolate and sleep!

On the second day, the rain poured and we were forced to cancel the trip to the maze at Anker Wood but we had a wonderful morning playing board games. In the afternoon, the rain stopped (finally!) and we travelled to ‘Lucky Tails Farm’ where we had a muddy walk with alpacas!

On the final evening, we had a lovely meal together. After dinner, the pupils played team games (volleyball and pictionary) and danced (led by Mrs Saywood! )

On the final day, pupils and staff had a wonderful trip to Birdland in Leicestershire. Some pupils enjoyed having the birds land on their shoulders, arms and even their heads!

Everyone had a fantastic time. All the pupils behaved brilliantly and developed and deepened friendships. Thank you to the amazing staff who gave up their free time to allow this trip to happen.
