Once again a visit from the Problem Solving Company gave our year 7 and 8 learners a chance to practice their maths skills. Our students enjoyed the challenge of the "Escape Box" along with many other mathematical and reasoning problems set during the day.
We took our Young Employment Ambassadors to deliver a short session on BSL with a message that, with small reasonable adjustments, we can all contribute to success in the workplace. We are so proud of our learners. They are all talented young adults with superb communication skills.
Sam Widnall visited us to talk about his career as a pastry chef. We witnessed one of the most powerful and inspirational talks from one of our alumni! Sam talked about his career path from school to the present and gave our pupils such great advice. Sam, we are so very proud of you and all you have achieved. Thank you for coming to speak to us!
We had so much fun today planting saplings. We followed instructions, worked together and planned where we want trees to grow. We supported them with stakes and used tree protectors too. Thank you
We took 4 sixth form pupils and 3 staff to London to promote the BSL Act Now rally at Trafalgar Square, London.
Pupils and staff had a wonderful time during the sixth form residential at the Brighouse Residential Centre in Atherstone. The pupils planned, budgeted, shopped for and cooked all the meals during the three day residential, organising themselves into teams. They astounded staff with their organisational skills. It was truly a pleasure to spend time with each and every one of them. Read the recount below written by one of our young people.
