Locked down, but still learning!

Following the government's instruction that 'lockdown' should continue for an additional three weeks, Braidwood will continue to support the government guidance and principles:

  1. If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they must be.

  2. If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a key worker, then educational provision will be available for them.

  3. Parents should not rely for childcare upon those who are advised to be in the stringent social distancing category such as grandparents, friends, or family members with underlying conditions.

  4. Parents must also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They must observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

  5. Residential special schools, boarding schools and special settings continue to care for children wherever possible.

Braidwood staff are continuing to send work to learners using Google drive and it is being marked and eturned promptly. All staff are working to contact you child every week using Google Hangouts.
This contact has a dual purpose, firstly to allow your child to see that staff and the school as a whole cares about how they are, and provide an opportunity to share their thoughts and feeling about the current situation. Secondly to encourage your child to complete their school work and to offer advice and guidance when needed.
Please see the guidance on how to support your child for how to access Hangouts that is also under the COVID19 tab of this website.

If you are a Key worker please access information under the Key worker section under the COVID19 tab of this website.
