Your child at home

As our school remains physically closed until September, Braidwood staff continue to set and mark a range of excellent learning opporutinites using Google drive. This week we have sent out timetables to all children and families to assist in adding structure to learner's days.

We also continue with the Tuesday and Friday meet-ups with children. This contact has a dual purpose, firstly to allow your child to see that staff and the school as a whole cares about how they are, and provide an opportunity to share their thoughts and feeling about the current situation. Secondly to encourage your child to complete their school work and to offer advice and guidance when needed.

Beginning Monday 8th June, child ren will also be invited to attend a number of short on-line, live lessons with staff.

Following the government's instruction that 'lockdown' Braidwood will continue to support the government guidance and principles:

If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they must be.

If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a key worker, then educational provision will be available for them.

For childcare, parents should not rely upon those who are advised to be in the stringent social distancing category such as grandparents, friends, or family members with underlying health conditions.

Parents must also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They must observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

Please see the guidance on how to support your child for how to access Hangouts that is also under the COVID19 tab of this website
