Good Mental Health

 Good Mental Health

Good mental health is something we all want for both ourselves and our loved ones.

However, Deaf people are twice as likely to experience mental health issues such as depression and anxiety compared to hearing people.  What makes this situation worse is that Deaf people find it harder to access support. When they go to the doctors, they can experience communication barriers which only makes their symptoms worse.

It's always important to seek help, but it's also useful to know a little about what we are talking about and to try to help ourselves and our family members.

Please click on the picture at the top of this page and connect to a very useful site full of easily understood information, INCLUDING videos in BSL!!

Remember, good mental health is as important as good physical health.
